Your day starts with yoga each morning, and is filled
with fun and adventure, or relaxtion and pampering, whatever you
choose! In the evenings we stay in cozy rooms with comfy beds, and
beautiful views.

Kristin Olson is one of the most beloved yoga instructors in
the Coachella Valley. She loves playing with the mystical and
spiritual. Since the opening of the Urban Yoga Center she has seen
an increase in consistent attendance by local students as well as
Desert Aids Project clients and employees. The Urban Yoga Center
offers a wide variety of classes, alternative healing modalities,
and fun and interesting workshops.
Kristin
developed Urban Yoga by blending the various styles of yoga she has
practiced over the years. Kristin was Physical Director of The Ashram in Calabasas and
she designed and developed The Heartland Spa near Chicago. She
frequently counts Hollywood luminaries and top business executives
among her students and leads corporate retreats both in the USA and
Europe. Palm Springs is her home base.
Kristin Olson's Urban Yoga is an
eclectic blend of traditional Hatha poses, breathing techniques,
strengthening, and restorative postures. It is individual,
contemporary, palatable, humorous, and loving. Urban Yoga is for
busy people looking for ways to find their spiritual center, to
stretch and flex their bodies and minds, to savor the pause. Kristin
has 28 years of teaching experience including The Ashram, Calabasas;
The Heartland, Chicago; Hollywood luminaries, corporate retreats USA
and Europe. Specialties include HIV/AIDS Restorative,
Beginning/Intermediate Urban Yoga, seniors, High school P.E. credit,
wellness consulting, body balancing, fitness training, hiking, aqua,
private retreats, seminars, and
consultations.
In the fall of 2002 Kristin was
awarded a grant by the Southwest Karma Yoga Foundation for her work
with HIV/AIDS Restorative Urban Yoga (the Sunday class). A video was
made of her special Sunday class. Kristin is a dedicated provider
for the Desert AIDS Project, Palm Springs, and for the Palm Springs
Unified School District. Urban Yoga is the chosen 'warm-up' for the
Desert AIDS Walk each spring, with over 2000 attendees doing "Urban
Friendly Yoga" led by the Urban Yoga Team of 45
